In Gmail, incoming and outgoing servers are used when you want to access your Gmail account through an email client like Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or a mobile email app instead of the Gmail web interface.

1. Incoming Mail Server (IMAP or POP3)

Gmail supports IMAP (recommended) and POP3 for receiving emails.

IMAP (Recommended)

Server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL/TLS

POP3
Server: pop.gmail.com
Port: 995
Encryption: SSL/TLS


2. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

SMTP is used for sending emails.
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
